Karlins Ramey & Tompkins, LLC welcomes six new team members

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Mike Karlins, CPA of Karlins, Ramey & Tompkins, recently welcomed six new team members to their expanding team. Meet (from left to right) Leanne Newcomb, Reagan Ohendalski, Sarah Hankla, Jorge Mendez, Kenia Cadiz and Paul Hopkins. Sarah Hankla was brought on board as a Staff Auditor, while Kenia Cadiz and Jorge Mendez join the firm’s Tax Staff Team. Paul Hopkins joins the firm’s Review Team. Also bringing their skills to the firm is both Reagan Ohendalski, joining as a Senior Tax Staff member, and Leanne Newcomb contributing as an Administrative Assistant.

Altogether, this group of new team members represents a staff growth of over 25 percent, which is the largest in such a short period of time in the firm’s history, and their combined experience totals more than 18 years. “KRT is not only stepping up our tax, audit, and review capabilities, but several of our new team members are bilingual which is extremely important for our future growth. Currently we have 4 Spanish speaking accountants on the team,” noted Karlins. “Our decades of experience and resources, positions KRT to meet our client’s growing accounting, audit and review requirements, and I am proud that we continue to grow and work together to exceed their expectations.”

About Sarah Hankla

Sarah Hankla joins KRT as a Staff Auditor. Sarah’s industry experience includes manufacturing & distribution, oil & gas and energy trading. Her audit experience includes internal audit support and business process controls testing (SOX). Sarah graduated with a Bachelors of Business Administration in Accounting from Texas A&M University and a Masters of Science in Management Information Systems from Texas A&M University. Prior to joining the firm Sarah was an Intern and Staff AERS Consultant at Deloitte & Touche, LLC.

Sarah is a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Houston Chapter of Texas Society of Public Accountants.

About Kenia Cadiz

Kenia Cadiz joins KRT as a member of the Tax Staff. Kenia’s industry experience includes real estate, service and manufacturing & distribution. Her tax experience includes individual, partnership, and corporation.

Kenia graduated with a Bachelors of Business Administration in Accounting from Houston Baptist University and a Masters of Arts in Christian Education from Dallas Theological Seminary. Prior to joining the firm Kenia was a Staff Accountant at J.D. Pace and Company, P.C. Kenia is fluent in both Spanish and English.Kenia is a member of the Texas Chapter of Society of Public Accountants, Houston Chapter of Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, Leader of Adolescent Student Ministry at Iglesia Pacto Eterno and Vice-Treasurer at Iglesia Pacto Eterno.

About Jorge Mendez

Jorge joins KRT as a member of the Tax Staff. Jorge’s industry experience includes real estate, manufacturing, service and not-for-profit organizations. His tax experience includes individual, partnership, corporations and trusts. Jorge graduated with a Bachelors of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Houston. Prior to joining the firm he was a Staff Accountant at Ratliff and Jentho, CPA’s.

About Paul Hopkins

Paul Hopkins joins KRT as a member of the Tax Staff. Paul’s industry experience includes construction, financial institutions, non-profit, real estate and service. His tax experience includes individual, partnership, business state taxation and S-corporations.

Paul graduated with a Bachelors of Business Administration in Accounting from Stephen F. Austin University and a Masters in Professional Accountancy from Stephen F. Austin University. Paul served 4 years with our United States Marine Corps. He was attached to Combat Service Support Group 3 on Marine Corp Base Hawaii. He then was awarded multiple Certificates of Commendations during Cobra Gold 2001 mission in Thailand and Crocodile 1999 mission in Australia. We are glad to have Paul part of our team.

About Reagan Ohendalski

Reagan Ohendalski joins KRT as Senior Tax Staff. Reagan’s industry experience includes medical services & device manufacturing, oil & gas field service companies, professional service companies, family limited partnerships. His tax experience includes large partnerships, closely held family/business groups, S-corporations, high net worth individuals, IRS representation and state/local tax research, compliance, consulting & audit defense.

Reagan graduated with a Bachelors of Business Administration in Accounting from The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. Prior to joining the firm Reagan has worked at The Legacy Group, State Tax Advisors and Calvetti Ferguson.

About Leanne Newcomb

Leanne Newcomb joins KRT as an Administrative Assistant. Leanne’s experience includes receptionist, administrative assistant and customer service. Her accounting experience includes accounts payable and data entry.
