The Woodlands Township hosts free child's car seat check and fingerprinting

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Texas law requires that children 8 years of age and younger to ride in a child safety seat, unless they are taller than four feet nine inches in height. It’s also important for residents to know that four out of five car seats are not installed properly.

On Saturday, September 6, 2014, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., certified technicians from Safe Kids and Texas Children’s Hospital will be checking the installation of children’s car seats in the Target Parking lot at Pinecroft Center. Residents are encouraged to bring their children, car seats, vehicle and vehicle owner’s manual.

Other activities at this event will include:

• Children’s fingerprint recording.

• Visiting with the K-9 team of Deputy Marshall and Hap.

• Visiting with The Woodlands Firefighters and climbing aboard the fire truck.

• Learning about valuable crime prevention resources and tools from Neighborhood Services, The Woodlands Watch.
