THE WOODLANDS, Texas - Patricia Sendelbach is no stranger to the role of vice president of administrative services at Lone Star College-Montgomery, and its importance to the Lone Star College System. She served as interim in this capacity since January 2014, and was recently selected to continue in a permanent role.

“I am delighted to be serving as vice president of administrative services,” Sendelbach said. “I have been with LSC-Montgomery from the beginning and I’m excited to be in a role that impacts the entire college.”

Sendelbach has a lengthy past with LSC-Montgomery, having been a professor of accounting and department chair of business in the Business and Social Sciences Division. She was a full-time faculty member for six years and prior to 2008 was a member of the adjunct faculty for 14 years. Throughout her time at LSC-Montgomery, she has always exhibited her passion for teaching and was recognized as both a Faculty Excellence award recipient and The University of Texas at Austin NISOD Excellence recipient in 2012.

"Pat is uniquely qualified to serve in this important role for the college," said Dr. Austin A. Lane, president of LSC-Montgomery. "She has an extensive history with our college as a faculty member. That, combined with her extensive background in the accounting world prior to joining LSC-Montgomery, is impressive – and extremely valuable for our college."

Sendelbach feels her professional history with LSC-Montgomery has prepared her well for this role.

“As part of administration you work on broader objectives and goals,” she said. “I am learning more about the system and interacting with a lot of people throughout the campus. Having been a faculty member, students were and always are first in my mind, and I want to continue to have that outlook.”

Sendelbach also has very relevant experience as a Certified Public Accountant. Prior to her time at LSC-Montgomery, she began her career in auditing with Price Waterhouse and continued work in this field as an internal auditor with Pfizer. She also gained experience in the area of corporate accounting, working as a staff accountant at Hoechst-Celanese.

“All of my public accounting and auditing experience is beneficial to working on the financial side,” Sendelbach said. “It helps to know what kind of documentation needs to exist and what policies need to be followed.”

Sendelbach is originally from New Jersey and received her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University. After relocating to Texas she earned an MBA, with a specialization in accounting, from Sam Houston State University. Sendelbach is a CPA in the states of Texas and New Jersey, as well as an active member of the American Women’s Society of CPAs, and currently serves as the chair of the organization’s scholarship committee. She is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Texas Society of CPAs, Houston Chapter. She serves on the board of directors of Bridgewood Farms, a center for teens and adults with intellectual disabilities and physical handicaps.

She is married with two children and currently resides in The Woodlands.

Sendelbach has indicated she has one particular goal in mind during her role as vice president.

“I feel this role is a very integral part of the management team, and it is vital that this role works in conjunction with the members of the executive cabinet,” she expressed. “I want to focus on this and make sure we work as a team.”

LSC-Montgomery is located at 3200 College Park Drive, one-half mile west of Interstate 45, between Conroe and The Woodlands. For more information about the college, call (936) 273-7000, or visit www.LoneStar.edu/montgomery.
