Chris Grice formally announces candidacy for Montgomery County Hospital District Board Position 3

THE WOODLANDS, Texas - Chris Grice, a long time resident of Montgomery County, a community leader and Senior Vice President at Amegy Bank, is pleased to formally announce his candidacy for Montgomery County Hospital District (MCHD) Board Position 3. Barry Blanton has been named Campaign Treasurer.

“I am running for the Montgomery Hospital District Board because I believe that I am the best candidate,” noted Grice. “First of all I have a strong financial background, especially within the medical field because of my 35 years in banking, primarily working with physicians, small to medium practices and hospitals.”

He continued, “I also understand the medical needs that affect Montgomery County. I chaired the Montgomery County United Way Clinic Capacity Committee in 2013, Served on the Board of the Lone Star Family Health Center as chairman of the finance Committee since 2008. I was also the Building chairman during construction of the new 70,000 Sq. Ft. building in 2012. I have the skill set to be a good steward of our taxpayer dollars.”

The Montgomery County Hospital District is a political subdivision of the State of Texas. MCHD was established through special legislation in 1977 to provide healthcare to the indigent residents of Montgomery County. In addition to its legislation charge to provide indigent care through its Health Care Assistance Program (HCAP), MCHD operates the county’s ambulance service, serves as the county’s Public Health Department and offers a variety of community and professional education programs.

The MCHD Board of Directors is made up of seven elected members, three at-large and the remaining four are elected from different commissioner’s precincts of which they are a resident. Each member serves a four-year term.

About Chris Grice

Chris is the Senior Vice President at Amegy Bank of Texas and is a graduate of Mississippi State University with a degree in Banking & Finance.

He is a member and past Board Chair of The Woodlands Economic Development Partnership, a member The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce, a Manager of the Private Banking team in Montgomery County and North Harris County for Amegy Bank of Texas from 2005 to the present. Chris was previously with JP Morgan Chase (formerly Texas Commerce Bank) from 1985-2004. He spent the majority of his career managing the Texas Medical Center Private Banking Group and also managing a statewide lending group within the Chase Private Bank.

Chris and his wife, Gay, reside in The Woodlands. Chris has two adult children and three step children along with 3 grandchildren.
