THE WOODLANDS, Texas – The Annual National Night Out Safety Expo in The Woodlands is scheduled to take place from noon to 3 p.m. at Northshore Park on Saturday, September 20, 2014. This free hands-on event gives residents the opportunity to meet a variety of local, state and federal law enforcement and emergency professionals.

Coordinated by The Woodlands Township Neighborhood Services Department, this event provides valuable information and fun for all ages. Residents will be able to enter mobile command units of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, climb aboard the SWAT Bearkat of Homeland Security’s mine-resistant tank, get behind the wheel of a fire engine and more.

A crowd favorite of the Expo each year is the law enforcement K-9 demonstrations by Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Harris County Constable Precinct 4 and the Conroe Independent School District. Residents can also test their driving skills on the texting while driving simulator or the driving while impaired simulator.

Residents will also enjoy food supplied by H-E-B, a bounce house, music, face painting, games and other entertainment. Guests will include Puffy Pinecone, McGruff the Crime Dog, Smokey Bear and Carey Bear from Memorial Herman Hospital. Free parking will be available across from North Shore Park. The Eco Taxi will be available to help safely shuttle residents to the park entrance.
