2014 Celebration of Excellence Gala expecting a record number of attendees

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – The 15th Annual The Woodlands Celebration of Excellence Gala benefiting Interfaith of The Woodlands and slated for Saturday, October 4, is expecting a record number of attendees.

The event is slated for October 4, and the event will benefit Interfaith of The Woodlands.


Presented by Visionary Circle Sponsors Huntsman Corporation and Strike LLC, the 2014 Hometown Heroes and Hometown Angel will be recognized in front of a crowd of more than 850 guests. “Each year this event gets bigger and better, and everyone associated with the gala is simply thrilled with the number of guests attending this year. It is a testament to our very giving and generous community,” said Dr. Ann Snyder, President and CEO of Interfaith of The Woodlands.

In addition to Huntsman Corporation and Strike LLC, Anadarko and George & Dianne Lindahl are also supporting the gala along with Circle of Excellence Sponsor, The Woodlands Development Corporation. Circle of Giving Sponsors include PBK, Inc., ExxonMobil, Repsol USA, Gary & Laura Slay, Wells Fargo- The Private Bank and Woodforest National Bank.

The 2014 event will feature silent, bid board and exclusive live auction items including a 7-night Mexican luxury vacation in Punta de Mita with three complimentary airline tickets courtesy of AeroMexico, the opportunity to Name a Street here in the Woodlands, experience The Woodlands from above with a helicopter tour for four with brunch at the new Black Forest Café at the Lone Star Executive Airport, wall to wall carpeting in three rooms, a seven night stay in Angel Fire, New Mexico, and an exclusive wine dinner for12.

Guests can also take their chance at the raffle where the winner can choose between one of two beautiful homes on Maui valued at $12,000. “The entire committee has worked so hard to make the auction, raffle and bid board outstanding this year, and we know the guests will enjoy the wide variety of items that will be available the evening of the gala,” Dr. Snyder continued.

The 2014 Hometown Heroes are Dr. Austin Lane, Brenda Mizell, Jeff Shipley, Bret Strong and the Huntsman Corporation. The Gala will also recognize the late Dr. Vance LeCrone as a Hometown Angel. Since its inception, 97 individuals and 11 businesses have been selected to receive this prestigious award.
