THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Stuart Marcus from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service speaks on Moths of Southeast Texas: The Good, Bad and Ugly on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. for the Walk in the Woods Nature Lecture at McCullough Junior High School at 3800 South Panther Creek Drive.

Moths do not have the same status as birds or butterflies. Viewed by many as pests in the home and to agriculture, moths are beneficial and have a place in the eco-system, according to Mr. Marcus.

Often referred to as butterflies of the night, moths, Mr. Marcus says, are “much more beautiful, intricate and strange than butterflies.” Explore the world of moths when Mr. Marcus reveals their intriguing behaviors and role in nature. Learn about daytime flying moths and the difference between moths and butterflies.

A free program of The Woodlands Township, Walk in the Woods Nature Lecture series is sponsored by The Woodlands G.R.E.E.N., Waste Management and Hilton Garden Inn. For more information, please call 281-210-3800 or visit www.thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov/wildlife.
