THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The Greater Montgomery County Restaurant Association invites you to raise a raise a glass at its Pints for Progress event on Tuesday, Oct. 21 from 5 to 8 p.m. at The Republic Grille.

One of the GMCRA’s annual fundraisers, the Pints for Progress event is open to the public and brings a “who’s who” of the local food-service industry together for an evening of friendly camaraderie and networking. Tickets are available for $20 at the door, and include hearty appetizers from The Republic Grille’s signature menu of healthy Southern favorites. Southern Star Brewery in Conroe will be pouring complimentary Bombshell Blonde pints for an even more local flavor.

“A good time will surely be had by all,” said Terry McBurney, president of the Greater Montgomery County Restaurant Association, and owner of the red-hot The Republic Grille and Republic Payment Systems. “The Montgomery County Chapter has several fundraising events each year and we are pleased to have The Republic Grille serve as the venue for this year’s Pints for Progress event.”

The GMCRA is a supporter of local educational efforts in the food-service and hospitality industries. In past years, Pints for Progress has allowed the GMCRA to donate much needed kitchen supplies to local schools and is an integral booster of the ProStart program that gives high school students an education in professional kitchen environments.

“We believe in giving back to the community and what a better means than to high school kids of Montgomery County,” McBurney said. “The restaurant industry is one of the biggest employers in the state and we relish the opportunity to help young people find training for jobs in our dynamic field.”

Sysco Foods, The Republic Grille and Southern Star Brewery are sponsors of the event.
