LMC Class of 2015 explores infrastructure in Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas - The Leadership Montgomery County (LMC) Class of 2015 recently explored infrastructure in Montgomery County at their Infrastructure Session sponsored by Entergy Texas.

The Infrastructure Session, held at the San Jacinto River Authority, gave the class a look into the inner workings of the county. The day was planned by Session Director Brent Sherrod (LMC Class of 2000), Managing Partner of American Civil Engineering Services, LP with the assistance of Erich Peterson (LMC Class of 2012), with Jones & Carter.

The day began with LMC’s Leadership Series focusing on leadership development led by several LMC Alumni including Melanie Bush, Rob Koester, Erich Peterson, Steve Scott, Vicky Shelledy and Vic Tarasik. Class members then spent the morning hearing presentations from Doug McCormick of Entergy Texas, Jace Houston of the San Jacinto River Authority and Montgomery County Precinct 2 Commissioner and County Judge-Elect Craig Doyal.

The class then toured the Lake Conroe Dam before heading out to Galaxy FBO at the Lone Star Executive Airport for lunch and class project discussion. Following lunch, the class toured the airport tower and got a look at the Apache helicopters. The class then returned to the Galaxy FBO for a tour followed by a presentation by Greg Hall, Jr. of the City of Conroe. The class then left for a tour of the Southwest Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant in Conroe.

Leadership Montgomery County (LMC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, dedicated to developing and enhancing current and future leaders of Montgomery County. The goal of the program is to educate and inform candidates about major community issues, while inspiring and motivating individuals to exercise their leadership skills to benefit the community.

LMC is a joint project of the Greater Conroe/Lake Conroe Area Chamber of Commerce and The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce. The Greater Magnolia Chamber of Commerce, the Greater East Montgomery County Chamber, the Montgomery County Hispanic Chamber, and the Magnolia Parkway Chamber are also participating Chambers in the LMC program. Class participants are chosen by application process in June of each year.
