THE WOODLANDS, Texas – The Mission, a student organization at Lone Star College-Montgomery, and Illuminate Nations surpassed their fundraising goal of $10,000, thanks to the Illuminate 5k run on Saturday, October 11.

“What an amazing event,” said Mark Stelter, professor of criminal justice at LSC-Montgomery and co-advisor of The Mission. “They raised over $10,000 for the orphanages in Nepal and India! What an incredible student success story!

After two months of planning, a great deal of advertising, and attendance at the run of over 300 people, the event was a huge success.

The money raised from this event will help build underfunded orphanages for children rescued from human trafficking in India and Nepal.

LSC-Montgomery is located at 3200 College Park Drive, one-half mile west of Interstate 45, between Conroe and The Woodlands. For more information about the college, call (936) 273-7000, or visit www.LoneStar.edu/montgomery.
