As I leave the Conroe ISD Board of Trustees, I want to thank all the people who supported me in my efforts to ensure that CISD has a top-notch administration, employs highly qualified and gifted teachers, provides a quality education for students and ensures that taxpayers get all those things at a reasonable price.

I want to ask for your support one more time. Please go to the polls and vote for candidates who will continue the work done by the current board. Having met with both candidates for the position I am vacating, I strongly recommend that you vote for Kim LeJeune. Of the two candidates, she will, by far, be the better school board member.

Kim is a team player, has no hidden agenda and when she disagrees, she does so without being disagreeable. She is the candidate who will best represent the interests of students and tax payers rather than her own personal interests.

The writer of a recent letter in The Courier said, “I judge my political candidates by what they say.” Yet, the best predictor of how people will perform is not what they say but what they do. Remember one presidential candidate saying, “Read my lips, no new taxes;” and another promising “the most transparent administration in history?” What did they do? Kim LeJeune is a doer. She began her involvement with CISD much like I did – as a volunteer in the schools her children attended (Her oldest child is an honors graduate of Oak Ridge High School and her youngest is a current ORHS student). She volunteered in activities with students. She has served the PTO as president, VP for programs and VP for Fundraising. She has served on more than 20 committees, including the CISD Rezoning Committee. Let’s elect that type of leadership to the CISD board.
