This year's event raised money for the Montgomery County Food Bank and Meals on Wheels, which is operated by The Friendship Center in Montgomery County. Tyler Florence met with all the visiting authors and non-profit agencies in attendance before his luncheon address and cooking demonstration.

Laura Davis, the Program Manager at LVA-MC, was able to talk with audience members about the mission and purpose of LVA-MC and how they could help with adult literacy. As stated by Laura, “Overall, the event was very successful. It definitely helped to heighten awareness to the adult literacy situation in our county and quite a few people were even interested in becoming volunteer tutors with our non-profit”.

LVA-MC is a non-profit organization providing free ESL, ABE, Pre-GED and Workplace Literacy classes in Montgomery County. Their mission is to engage, educate and empower the community to fight poverty and improve the quality of life through adult literacy.
