THE WOODLANDS, Texas – In their ongoing efforts to express appreciation to the military men and women who serve our country, representatives from RE/MAX The Woodlands & Spring raised funds to benefit soldiers in the First Battalion, 158th Aviation Regiment at the U.S. Army Reserve Unit based in Conroe.

Led by Realtor Vanissa Micklethwait and co-chair Realtor Cissy Baylor, this is the eighth year the brokerage has helped make the holidays happier for area soldiers, many of whom are far away from their families and loved ones.

“We simply want to do something to support our soldiers and their families,” Micklethwait said. “While we can never thank them enough for all they do, this is our small way of letting them know we appreciate them and the sacrifices they make while defending our country.”

In a ceremony held at RE/MAX The Woodlands & Spring offices, gift cards totaling $5,000 were presented to Lt. Col. Drew Cecil, who will turn them over to the unit’s chaplain, Capt. Paul Baggett, for distribution to the soldiers.

“RE/MAX The Woodlands & Spring has recognized a need and graciously provided these blessings for our soldiers during the holiday season,” Cecil said. “The community provides this great support service to our soldiers, and I cannot emphasize enough how much this generosity means to all of us, especially during this time of year.”

There are presently 450 soldiers stationed at the unit, which is based at Conroe’s Lone Star Executive Airport.
