UPDATE: Connor Meaux has successful finish at Nike Cross Nationals

UPDATE: Connor Meaux took 77th place on Saturday, December 6, at the Nike Cross Nationals in Portland, Oregon. He finished the 5k race with a time of 16:20

THE WOODLANDS, Texas - A big spotlight awaits a local cross-country runner, as College Park’s Connor Meaux qualified to compete in the Nike Cross Nationals, the national championships of high school cross country, this weekend in Portland, Oregon.

Connor qualified for the Nationals at the Nike South Regional at Bear Branch Park in The Woodlands last weekend with a time of 15:56.21 in the 3.1 mile race.

Connor talks to us about starting out as running, qualified for the Nike Cross Nationals, and how his favorite thing about running is “fighting through the pain.”

College Park Cross-Country Head Coach Mike Gibson talks about Connor’s progression as a runner since his freshman year, the challenges that Connor’s overcome, and the experience that awaits him at Nationals.

Connor will run on Saturday, December 6 at the Glendoveer Golf Course in Portland, Oregon with the boys championship race beginning at 11:35 am Pacific Time.
