THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Habitat for Humanity Montgomery County (HFHMC) has announced plans for its 2015 Building Hope Gala, featuring the beauty, charm and elegance of the theme, “An Evening at Downton Abbey”. Set for Saturday, April 18, 2015 at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott, the evening will also be a time to commemorate the building of HFHMC’s 100th home in Montgomery County and to recognize this year’s special honorees.

“An Evening at Downton Abbey” is the theme for this year’s elegant celebration.

“The Gala Planning Committee is busy setting the plans in motion for this year’s event, using their incredible creativity to interpret our Downton Abbey theme. The décor, menu, music, and auction items will all reflect the beauty and elegance of the romantic era portrayed in the popular TV series,” said Suzanne Pagel, Gala Co-Chair.

“We have adopted the Old English proverb, “Each man’s house is his castle and each woman’s home is her safest refuge” as part of our Downton Abbey theme, since that’s really what home is all about and what Habitat for Humanity provides,” Pagel said.

The Doors Project, which began in 2013, will be back as another highlight of the 2015 Gala. Local artists will transform seven salvaged doors from Habitat’s ReStore into beautiful works of art. The doors will be on display at various venues throughout the community prior to the Gala, and are sure to be prized auction items at the event.

There will be three special honorees at the 2015 Building Hope Gala, including Community Honorees – Cyndi and Ron Brandt, Faith-Based Honoree – St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, and Corporate Honoree – Strike LLC.

Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope. Proceeds from the Gala will support Habitat’s mission and vision for a world where everyone has a decent place to live.

“The reality remains that there are families throughout Montgomery County who live without a safe, healthy or decent place to call home,” Pagel said. “Habitat for Humanity, in its efforts to provide affordable housing to low income families, has built nearly 100 new homes to date in Montgomery County. The generosity of our sponsors and supporters will help us accelerate the pace of building homes…and hope!”
