THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Lone Star College-Montgomery held its annual holiday benefit concert earlier this month, donating more than $1,600 in proceeds from the night’s heartfelt event to Interfaith of The Woodlands, a faith-based organization that brings people together to build a more loving and caring community through service.

All ticket proceeds and other contributions from the concert, showcasing traditional carols, familiar tunes, and upbeat holiday favorites performed by the college’s choirs, jazz ensemble and symphony orchestra, under the direction of LSC-Montgomery music professors Dr. Eiki Isomura, Christina Mendoza, and Dr. Mark Marotto, were donated to Interfaith to support their work in the community.

“The organization plays such an important role in bringing aid to our local community,” said Marotto, who also serves as the director of choral activities at LSC-Montgomery. “It’s a pleasure to partner with them once again for our annual holiday concert."

This is the ninth year that holiday concert proceeds have been donated to a local non-profit organization, and the sixth year that LSC-Montgomery has partnered with Interfaith of The Woodlands, after they united to create an on campus childcare program for faculty and students.

Dr. Austin Lane, president of LSC-Montgomery, graciously agreed to match the $1,653 donated with scholarships for the college’s music department.

LSC-Montgomery is located at 3200 College Park Drive, one-half mile west of Interstate 45, between Conroe and The Woodlands. For more information about the college, call (936) 273-7000, or visit www.LoneStar.edu/montgomery.
