THE WOODLANDS, Texas - From Friday, Dec. 19 through Saturday, Dec. 20, with each cupcake purchase, five Houston-area Gigi’s Cupcakes (Cypress, downtown Houston, Post Oak, Kingwood and The Woodlands) will donate one cupcake to the Houston Star of Hope for their Women and Family Shelter’s Christmas meal on Dec. 23. How sweet is that?

How sweet it is!

According to Jerry Rowell, owner of five Gigi’s Cupcakes in the greater Houston area, “Who wouldn’t love a beautiful cupcake for dessert as part of their Christmas dinner, especially those who have fallen on difficult times? There is something nostalgic about cupcakes. They make people both young and old happy.”

Gigi’s Cupcakes is no stranger to Houston’s Star of Hope. “Throughout the year, we make numerous cupcake donations to the Star of Hope. We feel that it’s very important to give back to our community and do something special for the men, women and children at the shelter, especially at Christmastime,” Rowell said.

“This time of the year as the community reaches out to help those less fortunate – Gigi’s Cupcakes is adding icing to the all-important Christmas meal at the Star of Hope’s Women and Family Shelter. The cupcake company’s promotion not only increases the awareness of the homeless situation here in Houston, but has given their customers a chance to add another gift giving opportunity to their list as they donate a sweet , tasty surprise to a homeless woman or child,” said Scott Arthur, public relations director with the Star of Hope.

Rowell is hoping to donate 1,000 cupcakes Houston Star of Hope for their Women and Family Shelter’s Christmas meal. Now that would be a sweet ending.

Locally, Gigi’s Cupcakes has locations in Cypress, downtown Houston, Post Oak, Kingwood, Sugar Land and The Woodlands.
