THE WOODLANDS, Texas – When The Woodlands Children’s Museum needed help preparing for its popular gingerbread workshop, Anadarko Petroleum Corporation came on board, sending a number of volunteers to assist.

The museum invited children to mingle with Mrs. Claus – while decorating gingerbread houses from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 17 and Saturday, Dec. 20.

Children created and took home their own gingerbread houses. All the supplies for the gingerbread houses were provided.

To prepare for the event, all of the pieces of a perfect gingerbread house had to be ready. Volunteers from Anadarko portioned decorative sweet treats, icing and gingerbread. They also prepared gift bags for participants.

“Taking home a gingerbread house is a great way to get in the spirit of the holidays,” executive director Angela Colton said. “Spending time with Mrs. Claus is always fun – and creates a special magical environment at the museum. We’re so grateful to Anadarko for their valuable gift of time to make it all possible for us.”

Located at 4775 W. Panther Creek Drive, Suite 280, in The Woodlands, 77381, the museum offers educational exhibits, a full calendar of exciting activities and a cool space for creative play for ages 7 and under. Admission is $5 for children 2 years and older.
