THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Four Montgomery County charities will benefit from the thousands of dollars in change inserted in Market Street’s voluntary parking meters throughout 2015 as the shopping, dining and entertainment destination announces the beneficiaries of the 2015 Change for Charity program.

Every three months, a new Montgomery County non-profit organization will benefit from the program, which collects the coins, deposited into Market Street’s 68 voluntary curbside parking meters.

“The Change for Charity program is part of the experience that is unique to Market Street,” says Jenny Taylor, assistant general manager at Market Street. “Our shoppers appreciate the opportunity to make a voluntary contribution to a worthwhile cause in exchange for a curbside parking place.”

The program’s first-quarter beneficiary, The Humane Society of Montgomery County, promotes the humane treatment of animals through community education and supporting responsible pet ownership.

Community Partners of Montgomery County, the program’s second-quarter recipient, supports abused and neglected children. The organization works through the Child Protective Services to provide new critical items for the children being served by CPS Caseworkers.

Market Street’s Change for Charity third-quarter beneficiary, Conroe Independent School District Education Foundation, was formed in 2001 to provide scholarships to graduating seniors who wish to pursue a degree in education and to CISD educators who wish to further their educational degrees.

The fourth-quarter beneficiary, Tamina Community Center, provides children, their parents and the entire Tamina community with access to valuable educational resources and other services.

Since the inception of the Change for Charity program, Market Street patrons have donated more than $100,000 to local Montgomery County charities, providing funds for organizations benefiting the health and welfare of children, adults and families in need.
