THE WOODLANDS, Texas - The Conroe Independent School District is proud to join other districts across the state to celebrate the countless contributions of school board members. The seven members of the Conroe ISD Board of Trustees work tirelessly and devote hundreds of volunteer hours to lead our students to success.

“You are extraordinary individuals who have voluntarily tackled the enormous job of governing our school district,” stated Ms. Linda Crews, Principal of Buckalew Elementary School. Ms. Crews served as spokesperson for CISD administrators, educators, staff members and students to honor the Board of Trustees at the January 20 Board meeting.

“Your actions and decisions affect the present and future lives of our children. Though we are making a special effort this month to show our appreciation, please know that we are thankful for all you do 365 days a year,” said Crews.

School board trustees shoulder critical responsibilities as advocates for our children. They face difficult challenges and make difficult decisions with the overall goal of promoting student achievement. Working as a vital link between the community and the classroom, the Conroe ISD Board of Trustees is responsible for over 56,000 students and approximately 6,500 employees. Our Trustees share a commitment and dedication that all students will receive a quality education while being granted every opportunity to excel in school.

Following Ms. Crews’ speech, the Board received a standing ovation.

Members of the Conroe ISD Board include John Husbands, President; Scott Kidd, First Vice President; Datren Williams, Second Vice President; Melanie Bush, Secretary; Ray Sanders, Immediate Past President; Jessica Powell, Trustee; and Skeeter Hubert, Trustee.
