THE WOODLANDS, Texas - Several local student-athletes signed their National Letters of Intent (NLI) to continue their athletic careers with respective colleges from all around the country on Wednesday.

Although there are early signing periods for some sports, National Signing Day has become a holiday in the south as it begins the signing period for high school football players to sign where they’ll play college football. College Park High School, Oak Ridge High School, and The Woodlands High School, respectively, each had players sign to play college football.

The Woodlands High School saw Reagan Scott become the first student-athlete in school history to sign a bowling scholarship, when she committed to Spring Hill College.

The Oak Ridge football team last season had nine signees, a school record, and this year has had six commits so far, with more to come.

College Park showed how deep the 2015 baseball team will be this season with five signees so far and there could be more during the season.

One of the most amazing accomplishments was with The Woodlands High School softball team, which had its third consecutive senior class of players all signed to play collegiate softball.
