THE WOODLANDS, Texas - Residents of The Woodlands take pride in the fact that the master-planned community is one unlike any other. In a category of its own, the suburban development has grown into a beautiful residential community, while also attracting major corporations and corporate campuses. With superb schools, a well-known shopping district and a wide-range of entertainment, The Woodlands has its own unique culture. To further make the community stand out, two longtime residents had the idea of an Internet radio station specifically tailored to The Woodlands, creating WoodlandsHits.com.

Music that makes you feel good.

The concept behind WoodlandsHits.com is to provide enjoyable music to residents, while also working with locally owned businesses, charities and non-profits to increase visibility and growth. Listeners will now have the opportunity to listen to localized news, sporting events, upcoming activities and more, while singing along to the hits they know and love. WoodlandsHits.com plays “music that makes you feel good.” With over 2000 songs in the library, the Internet radio station plays recognizable hits from the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s, including songs from the present day.

Chance Mock, a partner at WoodlandsHits.com, understood the need for a localized station in The Woodlands.

“Over the past several decades you’ve seen a move towards nationalized and big corporate radio stations,” said Mock. “We were able to create a model where people can literally advertise for pennies on the dollar and market to the local community. The growth back to the community and working within the community is so attractive to businesses.”

A name recognized by many, Mock was born and raised in The Woodlands, and was the star quarterback for The Woodlands Highlanders from 1997-2000, later committing to The University of Texas. Mock’s business partner for WoodlandsHits.com, Vincent Sinisi, is another TWHS graduate. Sinisi played baseball for the high school, leading the Highlanders to the 5A state title in 2000. The two friends and business partners both went on to play collegiate and professional sports, and then returned to their hometown to make up the team of WoodlandsHits.com.

“The Woodlands is a real hometown. It’s a community based around family and people who are proud to live here,” said Mock.

In efforts to create an outlet driven towards The Woodlands, WoodlandsHits.com is a go-to outlet for local businesses to reach out to their central market. Advertisers have the flexibility of customizing their message on WoodlandsHits.com, while knowing that it will be heard by the target group they are trying to reach. The website not only plays music, but also showcases local weather and events.

“Radio is a lot of fun and a great medium for opinion,” said Mock. “It’s an opportunity to get local news and information while listening to music. One of the great things about our station is that in an effort to continue to give back to the community, local charities and non-profits never pay for advertising on WoodlandsHits.com. It's important to provide an outlet for people giving back to our community to get their message out, in a way that doesn't effect their bottom line, and ultimately cost them money that could be going to help others."

WoodlandsHits.com is an outlet focused on The Woodlands community, providing music everyone can enjoy. As Mock and Sinisi like to say, “When it is good for the community, it is good for you and me.”
