Future Lawyers Scholarship application deadline is March 2

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – The Woodlands Bar Association (WBA) is pleased to announce that it will once again award two $1,500.00 scholarships to outstanding local high school students - The Future Lawyers Scholarship in Memoriam Ida G. Stewart and The Future Lawyers Scholarship in Memoriam Kevin T. Shea.

This marks the third year that the scholarships are open to graduating seniors in Montgomery County (public, private or homeschool) who will be attending a 4-year university, and who are residents of Montgomery County at the time of application. The deadline to apply is March 2, 2015 no later than 11:00 p.m. CST. The recipients will be chosen based upon financial need, academic achievement, community involvement, and demonstration of a strong desire to pursue a legal career. These scholarships are intended to recognize and encourage a spirit of community involvement and good citizenship among high school students, and allow the WBA to support the next generation of young lawyers in our community.

The Woodlands Bar Association was founded in 2006 to promote and develop the legal profession in The Woodlands, to provide networking and continuing legal education opportunities for its members, and to provide community service in areas where the members of the Association can use their unique legal skills to provide service to others.
