THE WOODLANDS, Texas - PACN attended events concerning the 2015 Faith and Family day on February 23 and 24 located at the Texas Capitol. This is an opportunity for PACN and other life affirming agencies to unite together in bringing awareness and truth to issues related to the pro-life community.

“Faith and Family Day is important to PACN and its clients as we look to support women and men with unintended pregnancies,” stated Cindy Sunday Powell, PACN Executive Director. “We advocate for the lives of preborn babies as well as the mothers and fathers, in addition to the distribution of accurate information so women can make an informed decision.”

An important part of Faith and Family Day is the chance to hear from Governor Greg Abbott and Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick concerning family values issues in the state of Texas and making office visits to legislators. In addition, life-affirming agencies such as PACN received proclamations from the house and senate recognizing the important work they do.

“There is encouragement in being with other life-affirming agencies as we make sure our elected officials know who we are and what we are doing. This allows us to build strong relationships to pass legislation supporting life,” said Karen Gould, PACN Center Director for the Spring/Woodlands.

A community of support is crucial to a woman choosing to carry to term. Pregnancy medical clinics like PACN positively affect the lives of women, men and babies by not only addressing physical needs, but also spiritual and emotional needs.

Conroe center director Teri McGiffert said, “Eighty percent of post-abortive women state that if they had any kind of support (emotional, physical, and financial) from the father of their baby, they would not have aborted. PACN offers the emotional support that mothers and fathers need. Through classes in decision-making, relationship and financial skills, we are able to strengthen individuals so they are able to create a better life for themselves and their families.”

Texas has recently passed the HB2 law which further protects preborn babies and their mothers. With the passing of this law, pregnancy medical clinics are reporting an increase in client visits, according to The Heidi Group.

“We feel our Texas Legislators’ are working hard for the pro-life community. We appreciate the work they do to bring truth and awareness about our cause,” stated Sunday Powell.
