THE WOODLANDS, Texas – As part of an ongoing effort to conserve the local water supply, The Woodlands Township is participating in the U.S Environmental Protection Agency’s WaterSense® Fix a Leak Week program, from March 16 to 22, 2015, to promote efficient water use and conservation.

According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, “The average household’s leaks can account for more than 10,000 gallons of water wasted every year, or the amount of water needed to wash 270 loads of laundry.” Nationwide, minor leaks can waste more than 1 trillion gallons annually.

During Fix a Leak Week, local home improvement and hardware stores in The Woodlands and nearby areas will feature clinics, workshops and displays on how to fix leaks. From simple leak repairs to full replacement projects, this week will offer great opportunities to find solutions and help with do-it-yourself projects. Find available Fix a Leak Week events in your area!
