THE WOODLANDS, Texas - The most recent UIL Lone Star Cup Standings were released during spring break with The Woodlands High School currently standing in second place.

Those standings might need to be updated as The Woodlands Highlanders boys soccer team and Lady Highlanders soccer team, each just won district titles.

The Woodlands boys played solid defense all year and closing out the final two games with a 1-1 draw versus a much improved Oak Ridge team and a 3-0 win last Friday over Kingwood gave the Highlander boys an outright district title.

The Woodlands will host Spring in the bi-district round of the playoffs on Friday, March 27, at 6pm.

As for the Lady Highlanders they steamrolled through the district season to an 11-0 record, however dropped their regular season finale, 2-0, to Kingwood, who also ended up with just a single district loss, as The Woodlands will be co-district champions with the Lady Mustangs.

The Woodlands allowed just four total goal allowed in 12 district games, giving the Lady Highlanders a +35 goal differential during the district season.

The Lady Highlanders will open the 2015 postseason against Montgomery on Friday, March, 27, at 6pm, at Woodforest Bank Stadium.
