THE WOODLANDS, Texas - The Woodlands Strykers will get the chance to enjoy the greater Woodlands community over the weekend as they participate in the annual Woodlands CrawPHish Festival. This is the third year the Strykers have sponsored the festival and have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to be involved in such a worthwhile cause.

The Woodlands CrawPHish Festival was created as a community partnership between the Pulmonary Hypertension Association and The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce. Since the Festival’s inception in 1999, the local fundraising has helped raise over $2M dollars. Jodie Miles, Director of Marketing and Community Relations for the Strykers has nothing but praise for the festival stating, “It’s awesome to see the community come together to help raise awareness for a disease that affects so many lives. I’m proud to be a part of something that helps with the betterment of people in The Woodlands area and beyond!”

The Strykers will kick off their 2015 campaign with a six game home stand starting on Thursday May 28th @ 7:05 pm against the two-time defending TCL champion Brazos Valley Bombers, followed by two games against the East Texas Pump Jacks and the Acadiana Cane Cutters, respectively. For more information about the Strykers, please visit their website at www.woodlandsstrykers.com or find us on Facebook and Twitter. You can also call 713.253.7464 or 832.228-5375. All games are played at Strykers Stadium on the campus of The Woodlands Christian Academy located on College Park Drive, a couple of miles west of Interstate 45. For the Strykers season to be a success we need your help. We are looking for families that would like to become a “host family” and open up their homes for some of our players. There are only a few things that the players will need during their stay. They will need a bed and bathroom along with light meals before they head out to the park. Our players enjoy the gratitude of families opening their homes as they realize it makes their time with the Strykers more enjoyable. To find out more information about this exciting opportunity, please contact John Villarreal at 832-922-0061 or javillarreal11@yahoo.com
