COLLEGE STATION, Texas - On Monday, March 30, students on campus at Texas A&M University started a movement called “I Gave Hope” to raise awareness and funds for the 22,500 kids that die every single day of preventable causes. This cause gives a voice to children who can’t speak for themselves.

The movement was an idea of the team at Relationships for Christ Ministries, Inc. who builds youth revitalization programs around the world called, Project Samuel. “We wanted to create a movement of change, and what better way to start that than on an university campus whose entire culture is steeped in making an impact and giving back.” Says RFCM President, Timothy J. Vowell. The purpose of #igavehope is to use social media to create a movement that challenges people to look at a social pandemic head on, not turning their heads but squaring their shoulders and linking hands to make a difference in the lives of at-risk children around the world. The movement is gaining momentum, and you can feel the buzz on social media outlets such as Instagram and Twitter.

A portion of the proceeds will go to Project Samuel, but RFCM doesn’t want to stop there. “We would to start an ‘I Gave Hope’ fund of sorts, “says Vowell. “We want to be able to give to other non-profits serving at-risk children around the world. This movement is bigger than Project Samuel, that is why we need everyone’s help to make it successful.”

To participate in “I Gave Hope,” simply go to igavehope.org and follow the four easy steps. This will take literally one minute of a person’s time, and will have a drastic impact on the world. On Monday students like Texas A&M basketball player, Danuel House, participated in the movement. Amanda Poole, a Texas A&M graduate states, “The idea behind this movement is, one person alone can make a very small impact, but if all of us band together we can shine a spotlight on this issue and truly make a difference and change the world!”
