Kids invited to come and play at the YMCA Healthy Kids Day

THE WOODLANDS, Texas - On Saturday, April 25, 2015, the South Montgomery County YMCA invites kids and parents to make a “play date” at the YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day™. As the leading nonprofit for strengthening community, the Y holds Healthy Kids Day to bring families together to engage in fun, active play and learn healthier habits that help them grow and thrive.

The community is invited to join the fun . . . Bring your family and friends. Healthy Kids Day will be held at the South Montgomery County Creekside YMCA Outdoor Adventure Center in the Woodlands, Activities will include open house, tours, face art, fingerprinting, arts/crafts, pony ride, demos, community booths, mascots, giveaways, games, screenings, health/safety fair, outdoor education, summer program registration info, door prizes, refreshments, music, magician, and much more . . . The first 300 Kids in attendance will receive a special gift.

April 25th is also the kick off for summer with Super Summer Sign Up Day featuring information and activities on YMCA summer programs: Day Camp, Swim Lessons, Youth Sports, Sports Camp, Teen Camp, Child Care, Performing Arts and more. New members can join and take advantage of the No Joining Fee Offer and save all year long on program fees including summer day camp, swim lessons and more.

YMCA Healthy Kids Day is the nation’s largest health day for kids and families and is free to the public. It’s a day filled with fun, engaging and creative activities that foster healthy living, and is a part of the YMCA’s larger efforts to help more kids and families become physically active. “This day is designed to celebrate healthy living, encourage kids and families to get excited about physical fun and activity, and most importantly, just play,” said Roxanne Davis, Community Liaison for the South Montgomery County YMCA. “Increasing physical activity is one way to get healthier, and doing it as a family is a great way to reconnect with one another. Healthy Kids Day provides hands on activities and games designed to educate kids and parents while entertaining them” she added. Come Dressed to Play – Healthy Kids are Super Kids.
