KINGWOOD, Texas - The College Park Cavaliers rallied for six runs with two outs in the top of the sixth inning en route to a 9-4 district road win over Kingwood on Thursday night.

College Park (15-2, 4-1) took advantage of three Kingwood errors in the top of the sixth inning as Aaron Perkins and Nate Fisbeck scored unearned runs for the Cavaliers in the frame. Those runs were bookended by a Colin Cameron single to right field and a Roosevelt Henderons hard line-drive single to right field scoring Vaughan and Cameron to give College Park a 7-4 lead.

The Cavaliers weren’t done as Ryan Dufrene doubled to center field scoring Jaxon Price and Aric Wilson to give College Park a commanding 9-4 lead that seemed to deflate the Mustangs.

Park Hudson got the win for the Cavaliers on the mound as he went two innings in relief and didn’t allow a hit to the 10 batters he faced, while walking one and striking out one. Tyler Mortensen made his second-career district start and went five innings, scattering six hits, four earned runs, while walking two and striking out four.

Chandler Morris came off the bench for the Cavaliers and went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored. Henderson also went 2-for-4 with two RBI’s for College Park.

College Park is alone in second place in District 16-6A and will host Conroe on Tuesday, April 7, at 7pm.
