MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas - Relocating to a new home brings with it a myriad of details that need to be attended to. Couple that with relocating from another state, or across the country. Rest assured that there are realtors who specialize in the relocation process, and Myrna Karlins with the Coldwell Banker United Realtors team, has over a quarter of a century of experience working with both residential and corporate clients.

This level of expertise doesn’t go unrecognized. For the fifth year consecutively, Myrna Karlins has received the Five Star Real Estate Agent Award, presented to industry service professionals who provide the highest quality of services to their clients.

Karlins prides herself in not only acting as an adviser in real estate transactions and providing the essential services required of an agent, but in taking the extra time to build relationships with clients beyond just buying or selling their property.

“I love working with people,” said Karlins. “It’s the best part of my job. The better I understand my clients’ needs, the better I can find the ideal property when it becomes available.”

Karlins has expanded the scope of her business to include investment properties and second homes, but working with major corporations on relocation is her core business, and business has been brisk. Major corporations like Cartus Relocation Services, ExxonMobil, UPS, USAA, and Navy Federal Credit Union, have benefited from an industry professional who has been in the community for thirty-four years.

“We moved to The Woodlands in 1981, when the population was just at 4,000,” said Karlins. “With the population now over 100,000, I’ve grown my business with it. I know the neighborhood well.”

Knowing the community is as beneficial as knowing your own business, but knowing your clients’ businesses as well, is a major competitive advantage. Karlins has both a Bachelor's degree in Economics and a Masters in Business Administration, and feels she has a good grasp on a broad cross-section of industry. Understanding the nature of her clients’ businesses as enabled her to grow her relocation services with top tier corporations and become a top producer, gaining membership in the prestigious ‘Million Dollar a Month Club.’ Her credentials in the real estate industry also include the following:

Member of the Houston Association of Realtors
Member of Texas Association of Realtors
Member of National Association of Realtors
Certified Luxury Home Specialist
Certified Negotiation Specialist CNS
Certified E-Marketing Specialist CMS
Quality Service Certified QSC
Home Marketing Specialist

Education & Program Chairman 2006 for Women's Council of Realtors

Myrna Karlins sets a sterling example of one who gives back to the community that has contributed to her success. Her website has a page that enables buyers and sellers to select a charity of their choice, to whom she will make a donation. On the page she states, “I believe it is extremely important to give back to our community to help those in need.”

Funding cancer research is especially important to her. She lost a sister to breast cancer fifteen years ago, and has been an advocate for the fight against breast cancer ever since, donating a considerable amount of time in support of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Other worthwhile cancer research foundations are supported as well, on the philanthropic page of her website Giving Back.

Karlins will be teaming up with family members April 23, to support a fundraiser to benefit military veterans. In tandem with husband Mike Karlin’s accounting firm, Karlins Ramey & Tompkins, LLC, this dynamic duo is partnering with TIRR Memorial Hermann for the second year in a row, with Bustin’ Clays, a sporting clay tournament. In addition to shooting clay targets, participants enjoy barbeque, camaraderie, and the intrinsic reward of aiding in the rehabilitation of military veterans.

The Bustin’ Clays fundraiser will be held at Creekwood Shooting Sports located at 2824 Hwy. 105 West in Conroe. Registration will start at 3:00, followed a shotgun start at 4:00 p.m. Admission is $275 per individual or $950 per team of four, and includes 50 clays, ammo, golf cart, dinner, t-shirts and awards.
