CONROE, Texas - The Oak Ridge War Eagles got another stellar pitching performance from Durbin Feltman and held off Atascocita for a 2-1 district home victory in a rain-shortened five innings on Friday night.

Oak Ridge (18-1, 9-0) clawed their way to a tough 2-0 lead with runs in the second and third innings, respectively.

Tyler Hicks scored the first run for the War Eagles when Matt Mihalov grounded into a 4-3 fielders choice to give Oak Ridge a 1-0 lead. Riley McKnight scored the second run for Oak Ridge when Michael Lawson singled to left field and a throwing error by the left fielder for Atascocita. That unearned run in combination with the weather was the difference for Oak Ridge.

Feltman was perfect through the first four innings, however Atascocita got a solo home run from Alerick Soulaire in the top of the fifth inning to close the margin to 2-1. Feltman would then rally to get the next three batters to silence the Atascocita rally. Feltman allowed just one hit on the solo home run over five innings, with no walks, and three strikeouts to the 24 batters he faced.

The War Eagles now have a 2.5-game lead on first place in District 16-6A and will travel to College Park on Tuesday, April 21, at 7pm, in a game that will be broadcasted live on Woodlands Online.
