Avante's “Champagne on the Rocks” event hits close to home with former Mrs. Texas, Kym Jackson

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Kym Jackson, first runner up Miss Texas USA and Mrs. Texas UA 2005, has a special reason to be a part of Avante Laser & MediSpa’s upcoming event, “Champagne on the Rocks”: her son, Blake. The event, being held at Avante’s location in The Woodlands on April 30, includes an appearance by Kym and Blake as they promote autism awareness. The event, which is free and open to the public, is planned to be an evening of champagne cocktails provided by the GenuWine Tasting Bar, live musical entertainment by acclaimed singer/songwriter Jennifer Grassman, and a jewelry trunk show by Jackson’s company Unique Urban Rocks.

Blake has been an inspiration to Kym even as she navigated through life with a child on the autism spectrum. “The reason I started Unique Urban Rocks was because of Blake,” Jackson said. “The name is because of him. First of all, he is a very unique child. He’s very special, and he’s urban. He wants to be a DJ when he grows up. He puts life into people and he absolutely loves that.”

Jackson created Unique Urban Rocks so she could share her story with people in a relaxed environment. Clients are given the opportunity to learn more about her family journey and how autism affects children worldwide. Jackson is constantly working to educate others – and herself – in the name of personal growth and awareness. “I acquired my Gemological Institute of America (GIA) certification because my belief is that, in order to achieve continued success, you must continue to educate yourself in the field.”

Jackson plans to unveil a new line of jewelry, the “AU79” collection. “I chose that name because ‘Au’ is the atomic symbol for gold and ‘79’ is the atomic number of gold. The trademarked symbol of this jewelry line will remind each wearer – and each person who notices someone wearing it – that finding a cause and a cure for autism is our goal, and our gold.” Blake, who is a musical prodigy, is also slated to play some music at the event.

The “Champagne on the Rocks” event will be held at 9191 Pinecroft in The Woodlands on April 30. The event goes from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Avante co-founder and co-owner Stacey Upchurch has pledged a portion of the proceeds of each product and service sold at the event will go to a nonprofit organization that funds autism awareness. Along with the food, cocktails, entertainment and jewelry trunk show, the staff at Avante will also provide complimentary VISIA complexion skin analyses as well as ZYTO scans for Young Living essential oils.
