THE WOODLANDS, Texas – The Woodlands Children’s Museum is debuting a new event celebrating Mexican culture.

The Cinco de Mayo fiesta begins at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 5, and the museum is inviting guests to make art projects, enjoy storybook theatre shows and watch live music and dance performances.

Central Taco will provide a taste of the restaurant’s menu at the entrance of the museum.

Music and dance performances from Sam Houston State University’s Ballet Folklorico are slated for 10:30 and 11:30 a.m., and 12:30 p.m.

Nan Price, the museum’s event coordinator, will play music at 11 a.m., and 2 and 3:30 p.m. The storybook theatres are scheduled for 2:30 and 4 p.m.

“This will be a fantastic opportunity to learn more about Mexican culture,” said Angela Colton, executive director of the museum. “Our staff is very excited to share different cultures with the community, and we’re really looking forward to making Cinco de Mayo an annual event.”

All activities are included in the cost of admission. Daily admission is $5 per person 2 years and older. Admission is free for children under 2 and museum members. Recommended for ages 7 years and under. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
