Lady War Eagles too much for Summer Creek

HOUSTON - The Oak Ridge Lady War Eagles used an eight-run fourth inning to propel past Summer Creek with a 14-0 road district win in five innings on Friday night.

Oak Ridge (21-8, 7-5) got six RBI’s on a 3-for-4 night at the plate, including a three-run home run in the top of the fourth from LSU-commit Amber Serrett to led the Lady War Eagles offense. Oak Ridge continued to take advantage of several opportunities and extended innings due to six errors committed by the Lady Bulldogs.

The Lady War Eagles combined to go 13-for-31 at the plate with 13 RBI’s in the regular season finale and finish the district season at 7-5.

Oak Ridge starting pitcher Jessica Rodriguez went 3 1/3-innings and scattered four hits with no runs, no walks, and four strikeouts to get the win.

Oak Ridge will face District 15-6A champion Klein Oak in the Class 6A Region II Bi-District playoffs at home on Thursday, April 30, at 7pm.
