Statement regarding revised bond proposal

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas - Montgomery County citizens stand united in requesting the Montgomery County Commissioners Court to put forward a revised bond proposal for the November 2015 ballot. Our problem was never with the idea of a road bond, but with the details contained in the May 9 Road Bond. We believe that the new bond proposal should:

• Recognize the reasons that the May 9 proposal failed
• Be developed based on community consensus
• Fund the development of a proper thoroughfare plan and county-wide mobility study
• Only address the most immediate needs of the county

Once the mobility study is completed, another bond can be put forward to address its near-term needs.

We look forward to working with the commissioners on this important issue to the health of our county.
