THE WOODLANDS, Texas - Legacy Preparatory Christian Academy (Legacy Prep) in The Woodlands, Texas has announced the valedictorian and salutatorian for their graduating class of 2015. Legacy Prep is excited to celebrate their second graduation ceremony at the end of the school’s 10th year. Adele Mouna has been named valedictorian and Rebecca Schardt has been named salutatorian.

According to Paige Jones, Legacy Prep Board Secretary, “This year’s graduating class is the perfect snapshot of Legacy Prep’s commitment to building college-worthy disciples. From military pledges to pre-med students preparing for the rigors of Baylor College of Medicine, and everything in between, we are so very proud of these young adults and how their gifts will bless the world.”

Legacy Prep is a University-Model School (UMS) comprised of grades pre-kindergarten through 12th. The school prepares students to be successful in college and life by providing a rigorous academic background that is rich in opportunities. Legacy Prep is a Christ-centered school that creates college-worthy, character witnesses for Christ.

Adele Mouna is graduating from Legacy Prep as valedictorian at the age of 16. She began at Legacy Prep in seventh grade after living in England, Norway and Qatar. Mouna was active in Legacy Prep’s National Honor Society and Student Council. She also played indoor hockey and competed in equestrian jumping. Mouna plans to study engineering and project management at either Texas A&M College Station, A&M Qatar, or Rice University after completing a year-long internship.

“Attending Legacy has taught me the importance of time management and planning ahead and has also shown me the blessings and rewards that result from hard work and perseverance,” stated Mouna. “No matter where my life takes me, I will always work my hardest for God’s glory as I know that I am representing Christ in everything I do.”

Rebecca Schardt is graduating from Legacy Prep as salutatorian after attending Legacy for eight years. She will be attending Abilene Christian University and studying social work. Schardt was awarded the Abilene Christian University Presidential Scholarship. She was active in Legacy Prep’s National Honor Society and Student Council as well as a member of the basketball, track and volleyball teams.

“Legacy has prepared me for college by helping me become independent and teaching me how to manage my time and schoolwork. I will greatly miss all the opportunities Legacy has to offer,” said Schardt. “As I leave Legacy, I hope to be a good character witness for Christ and to share Christ’s love with others.”

Legacy Prep’s second graduating class has seven students pursing different paths as they go out into the world. Middle and High School Principal Joann Manning stated, “We are proud to send them off. Their graduation ceremony will be the perfect culmination of the school’s 10-year anniversary.”
