CONROE, Texas - The Conroe Independent School District Board of Trustees gave special recognition to four outstanding employees in the Transportation Department at the May Board meeting.

Conroe Independent School District awards Ambassador Awards to recognize individuals for their positive contributions to campus life and campus climate. The Board of Trustees honored four Transportation employees for their extraordinary contribution to the District and to the students who are transported daily.

Sandy Cobb is a part-time bus operator and long-standing employee with the Transportation Department. She is an indispensable part of operations. Recently, she took over a route that requires a knowledgeable and patient driver to work with a student with special needs. Her demeanor made a vast improvement in the student's attitude and contributes substantially to the success of this student’s school day. Sandy’s willingness and professionalism are an asset to the Department and District.

Scott Leatherwood, a mechanic at The Woodlands Transportation Center, distinguishes himself by his high level of motivation. In addition to keeping his assigned buses in good working order, Scott drives a route every morning and evening. He is eager to help in any way and supports drivers that come to him for assistance. Scott’s hard work, dedication, and enthusiasm make him a valued employee of the Department and District.

With over 20 years of experience in transportation and the last 10 at the Oak Ridge Transportation Center, Herman Reece was crucial part of the operation. As a stand-by driver, not only was Herman the "go to" person for the most difficult routes, he was at the check-in window every day dispensing bus keys and words of encouragement and inspiration. Herman recently retired from CISD due to illness, but has requested that he be able to return as a part-time driver when he is well. Herman exemplifies all that is positive and is a firm, fair, hardworking and reliable bus driver.

Anna Snow has been with the District for 17 years. She brings a professional attitude and sense of humor that brightens the day of all around her. While she might disagree with the notion that she has a positive influence on others, her candor, insight and can-do attitude keep matters in perspective. She participates in every committee, attends every meeting to which she is invited, and keeps everyone in good spirits. The Department and District are fortunate to have her as part of our outstanding Transportation team.

The Director of Transportation, Mr. Sam Davila, introduced the outstanding employees.
