Gallery Furniture furnishing flood victims' homes

GREATER HOUSTON, Texas - Know someone devastated by the recent flooding in the Greater Houston and surrounding area? If so, Gallery Furniture wants to help. In social media posts at approximately 2:00 p.m. on June 8, the furniture store renown for helping the community in times of crisis, posted to both Facebook and Twitter that they will deliver a house full of furniture free, to 30 Houstonian families whose homes were recently flooded.

Furniture store in turn, flooded with well-wishes and blessings.

The community is being asked for names and a brief summary of the families’ situation in order to compile a list. By answering the following five questions, Gallery Furniture will be able to assess the greatest need.

1. Where did the family live? Must include affected address, city and zip code and current address and contact information.

2. How much devastation? Description and picture(s) are appreciated.

3. Number of people in household

4. Can furniture be delivered immediately? If not now, when?

5. Please describe their biggest furniture/mattress needs.

Gallery Furniture intends to act on this quickly, so those who plan to send an email, need to do so too, after all, they have a reputation to maintain. One of their advertising slogans is “Buy It TODAY, Get It TODAY.”

At the end of the Facebook post it simply said, “Thank you for your time. -Jim "Mattress Mack" McIngvale and all of Gallery Furniture.”

What followed was an ongoing trail of well-wishes and blessings for Mattress Mack and his generosity, that has continued since the notice was posted. As of this writing (seven hours later) it had been liked over 2,000 times and had over 500 shares.. Each post was acknowledged with a personal note of thanks and returning the blessing.

Albeit time consuming, this is the consummate of customer service.
