MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas - Summer’s here and they’re rearing to go...both the kids and the horses. White Bridge Farms is ready to saddle ‘em up with a summer of riding camps.

A summer camp that provides both riding experience and life preparation skills.

Owned and operated by Nancy Smith, who has been in the horse business for over 30 years, her tenure includes two years Equestrian Science study at William Woods University, ten years of riding and showing, 20 years of riding instruction, and 15 years owning and operating riding schools.

Nancy Smith owned and operated Kingwood Equestrian Center in Kingwood, Texas from 1988-2000. She had 10 horses and 100 students, and enjoyed teaching lessons and running summer camps. In 2000, her husband was transferred to Northern Virginia. She took her horses with her and opened Twin Oaks Riding Academy, again offering lessons and camps. Her husband's company is relocating to The Woodlands and she returns to Texas with her horses and expertise, teaching riding lessons and running a summer camp program at White Bridge Farms.

This wealth of experience is especially beneficial for new and novice riders, but can take experienced riders to their next level.

“My focus is developing capable, confident riders who have mastered the fundamentals of riding, in order to provide a lifetime of safe and enjoyable riding,” said Smith.

White Bridge Farms operates a year-round lesson program. Students ride once a week but additional lessons are available.

“We believe that students who participate weekly make more progress than those who come intermittently,” said Smith. “You’ll have a specific day and time for your one-hour group lesson.”

A Saturday Young Rider Camp is offered to Daisies, Brownies, and Junior Girl Scouts. This is a special program designed to help young girls learn about horses, care for them, and take a mini riding lesson. Inquire about availability and to register.

“Riding lessons are especially beneficial for young girls. They gain such confidence working with the horses,” said Smith. “It’s a great way to prepare them for what lies ahead, and to do so with confidence.”

Lessons are held Monday through Friday after school and on Saturday. For the full list of summer camps click White Bridge Farms Summer Camps. For a limited time, those who sign up for two riding camps, can obtain a discount on the second one.

White Bridge Farms is located at 13123 Noack Road in beautiful Magnolia, Texas (77355). See Map for directions.
