THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Mary Poppins is set to fly over the rooftops of London and into the Nancy Bock Center for Performing Arts July 10-19! This family musical features several well-known songs including “A Spoonful of Sugar,” “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” and “Step in Time.” Mary Poppins has captivated audiences for generations with its enchanting story, unforgettable songs and dazzling dance numbers. Based on the books by P.L. Travers and the classic Walt Disney film, Disney and Cameron Mackintosh's Mary Poppins delighted Broadway audiences for over 2,500 performances and received nominations for nine Olivier and seven TONY Awards, including Best Musical.

Audiences are invited to a “can’t miss” theatrical event for all ages.

Class Act Productions presents Mary Poppins July 10, 11, 12, 17, 18, and 19 at the Nancy Bock Center for Performing Arts, 3800 S. Panther Creek Drive, The Woodlands. This production is for all ages. The original music and lyrics are by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman. The book is by Julian Fellowes with new songs and additional music and lyrics by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe. It is co-created by Cameron Mackintosh.

No sugar needed to help this musical go down. This “practically perfect” portrayal of Disney’s Mary Poppins treats audiences of all ages to the cherished story of a very special nanny. Armed with song, dance and trusty umbrella, Mary Poppins, played by KATJA YANKO, and her sooty sidekick, Bert, played BY GABRIEL KEARNS, transform the unhappy world of a banker’s two children, Jane (GRETA LAMB) and Michael (GRANT BOTTORFF) into a magical new fantasyland. But Jane and Michael aren't the only ones she has a profound effect upon. Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises, "anything can happen if you let it." Full of chimney sweeps, statues that come to life, and toys that think for themselves, this wondrous, Tony Award-winning musical soars to the highest height. Mary Poppins is an enchanting mixture of irresistible story, unforgettable songs, breathtaking dance numbers, and astonishing stagecraft. In a word? Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!

Audiences are in for a special treat with over 70 tremendously talented local student actors.

The show is being directed by Keith Brumfield with assistance by Julie Stobbe. Like all Class Act main stage productions, the show will feature a live orchestra, directed by Music Director Rae Moses. Choreographer is Tony Smith.

Special effects in the musical version of Mary Poppins will be provided by ZFX Flying. Class Act Productions has hired this theatrical flying service to allow Mary Poppins to fly over the Bock stage and to help Bert to do some fancy footwork as well!
