THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The Howard Hughes Corporation® (NYSE: HHC) and its wholly-owned subsidiary, The Woodlands® Development Company, announced today that SJ2 Ventures, Inc. has signed a 1,735-square-foot lease to open a Huntington Learning Center in Creekside Park® Village Green, the focal point of 60-acre Creekside Park Village Center. Creekside Park Village Green highlights a scenic, tree-lined park, a sprayground, an all-weather turf field and pergolas.

This is the first location in The Woodlands and sixth franchise in the Houston area for Huntington Learning Center, a tutoring and exam prep center for students. The first Huntington Learning Center opened in 1977. There are now over 260 locations across the United States.

“We are pleased that Huntington Learning Center is making its debut in The Woodlands, specifically in Creekside Park Village Green,” said Alex Sutton, Co-President of The Woodlands Development Company. “It is our goal to offer shopping, dining and services within walking distance to nearby residences.”

Huntington has been named a Top 20 Children’s Services and Education Franchise in Opportunity World magazine, an AllStar Franchise by AllBusiness, a Top 100 Franchise by the World Franchising Network and a Top 50 Franchise for Minorities by the National Minority Franchising Initiative.

“I am extremely excited to add this family-owned business to The Woodlands. Huntington Learning Center embodies the values of this community. Our goal is simple - to give every child the best education possible by supplementing their current education,” said Jessica Frost, Co-Owner of Huntington Learning Center in Creekside Park Village Green. “One of the reasons my family moved here in 1980 was to provide a great education to our family. I am glad I can give back to the community that I love so dearly.”

John Richardson with Office Space Advisors represented SJ2 Ventures, Inc. in the lease transaction while Rip Reynolds, Director of Leasing & Commercial Land for The Howard Hughes Corporation, represented The Woodlands Development Company. Completion is slated for July 2015.
