Dance your way to The Summit with TADA this summer

THE WOODLANDS, Texas - Dancers looking to get a jump-start on the fall dance season will be heading to the Texas Academy of Dance Arts (TADA) this July for the first annual Dancer Summit.

The Summit brings together five incredibly talented dancers instructors who will share their knowledge, skill and passion for dance during the weekend of Friday, July 31 – Sunday, Aug. 2.

“It’s rare to have this level of talent all at one studio – all in one weekend – right here in Oak Ridge,” says TADA owner and director Kristan Ballard. “This intensive is a great way for dancers to focus on skills and technique that they may not have time for in regular year-round classes. It also gives them a leg up when they return to classes in the fall,” adds Ballard.

TADA is extremely proud to welcome Chonique Sneed, a well-known choreographer for artists such as Missy Elliott, Pink and J-Lo. She was chosen “Audience Favorite” choreographer for the hit show So You Think You Can Dance and also worked on America’s Best Dance Crew. Ms. Sneed will share with students her unique style of hip hop, groove and freestyle. Participants can register for the entire weekend or just Chonique Sneed’s classes.

Other faculty members include Dominic Chaiduang, who has danced alongside Britney Spears, Carrie Underwood and Kylie Minogue. Dancers will also be taking class with the legendary Jess Hendricks, tap sensation Jade Whitmire and Broadway artist Mitchel Federan.

Dancers are guaranteed a total of ten sessions over the course of the three days for all levels – advanced beginner, intermediate and advanced (pre-professional). Classes will be offered in a variety of styles including jazz, funk, tap, improv, contemporary and Broadway.

Five lucky dancers will be chosen by the instructors to receive the Summit Teacher Choice Award, which includes a scholarship to next year’s Summit.

In one short year, TADA has quickly become recognized as an elite dance studio, winning the ADCC Studio of Excellence award in February, and numerous choreography and entertainment awards at the recent StarQuest National Competition in Galveston.
