CONROE, TEXAS - Make plans now to witness some of the best Young Texas Artists performing the works of the masters of classical music. The 32nd annual Young Texas Artists Music Competition will showcase classical music’s rising stars from Texas and around the world (ages 18-32) in the following categories: Piano; Voice; Strings; and Winds, Brass, Percussion, Harp and Guitar.

Gala evening combines classical music with Texas barbecue.

The three-day competition culminates in a Texas-style gala, “Bach, Beethoven & Barbecue,” and the Finalists' Concert & Awards.

A panel of internationally acclaimed judges will choose the top performers and a grand prize winner. Up for grabs are cash awards and performance opportunities. Concertgoers can also get in on the judging action by casting their votes for the Audience Choice Award.

It all happens at the historic Crighton Theatre at 234 North Main St. in Conroe on Saturday, March 12, 2016, with the gala beginning at 5:15 p.m. and the concert at 7:30 p.m. Tickets to the gala are $125 and include the dinner, concert and after-party. Tickets for the concert only are $27.
