PCIR Denim & Diamonds gala set for Sept. 26

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Panther Creek Inspiration Ranch is hosting its 7th annual Denim & Diamonds Gala on Saturday, September 26, at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott. Inspiration Ranch, which has been fulfilling its mission of partnering horses with people to transform lives and help them reach their highest ability through equine-assisted therapy and activities since 2006, is taking the opportunity at the gala to in turn recognize the considerable contributions of Woodlands-based Anadarko Petroleum Corporation and the Boyce family.

“We are thrilled to be hosting the seventh year of this significant event, and delighted to be honoring Anadarko and the Boyces,” said Sondra Himmer, Vice President of Development and Communications. “They lead the way in showing the community the meaning of caring and commitment. The contributions that we receive from them and the generous donors like them allow us to focus on program development, increased scholarship activity, ranch growth and community impact.”

Last year’s gala raised more approximately $470,000. The donations have supported Inspiration Ranch’s mission in several aspects; in 2014, Inspiration Ranch provided more than 2,000 sessions of equine therapy and activities for children and adults with physical, mental and emotional challenges. Additionally, the funds provided scholarships to 60% of the ranch’s clients, and also supported the efforts for Inspiration Ranch to become a Premier Accredited Center through the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship.

“We all know someone who has a special need,” said Himmer. “Whether it’s a 5-year-old with Down Syndrome, a senior citizen recovering from a stroke, or a teenager who’s at risk struggling with the demands of life, research shows that individuals of all ages who participate in equine assisted therapies and activities can experience significant physical and emotional rewards.”
