THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Laura K. Fillault, a community activist and residents’ advocate, has filed for Township Director, Position 7. She believes that now is the time, “for a rare moment in the history of the Township, when residents can assume control of their destiny by electing a majority of strong leaders and advocates to The Woodlands Township board.” She states her goal is “to build a better country and community for her children, family, friends, and neighbors.”

Although she is a native Texan born in Kingsville, Laura arrived in The Woodlands via Paris, France. Her name and husband are 100 percent French which makes the pronunciation of her name “Fee-Yo.” She is a Texas Aggie with a degree in Industrial Engineering, wife and mother of two young children, and active in Republican organizations in Montgomery County.

As a community activist she was a leader in the campaign that successfully defeated the divisive $350 million road bond proposition that threatened the quality of life of Woodlands families. When filing for the non-paying position on the Township board, she said: “I trust the voters of The Woodlands to recognize ‘People Above Politics’ and end control of the board by developers, commercial and special interests.” She is a member of Texas Patriots PAC Tea Party, The Woodlands Republican Women’s Club, Montgomery County Tea Party, active in CISD and community events. The family worships together at The Church Project.

Early voting for The Woodlands Township Board of Directors begins on October 19 through the 24th from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. It resumes at the same times on October 26, 27, and 28. Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Her campaign website is LauraFillaultforTownship.com.
