THE WOODLANDS, Texas - Just south of The Woodlands on West Rayford, off of Gosling Road, you'll find a unique, boutique winery...Wild Stallion Vineyards.

Planted in 2008 and opened in 2013 by Larry and Karen Cress, Wild Stallion Vineyards hosts private events, live music events, tastings and more.

Currently, the vineyard has over 1,500 Blanc Du Bois vines in production, and their Malbec and Meritage are very distinct red wines brought in from Napa, California.

“Both are very smooth with a great nose and finish. The Blanc du Bois has burst onto the scene this year with a new winemaker from the Panhandle of Texas,” said Marketing Director, Carly Ekes. “They are all very easy to drink and enjoy on a hot summer day.”

They also have a Chardonnay, made in Texas with grapes from Napa, California. More information about the wines they serve and their tasting notes are available on their website: http://www.wildstallionvineyards.com

As of now, they are only open by appointment or private events, but anyone can host an event with Wild Stallion Vineyards, and their wine tasting events will begin in September. Private events inlcude weddings, receptions, bridal and baby showers, corporate events, cooking classes, wine tastings and more. To host an event, one should contact Lisa McCall or Carly Ekes at 281-803-9463.

This fall, Wild Stallion will be hosting their first fall music festival, timed with their award winning BJ’s Reserve release party. They will have the Beatles Tribute band, Fab 5, and will serve food and wine. More information about this event can be found on their Facebook and Twitter pages.

On September, Carly Ekes, Marketing Director, will be hosting Wine Tasting Events, and there is even talk of a Sangria Saturday opening in September. Available for purchase at the wine tasting events will be Tejas Chocolate, a local chocolate-producing company, along with cheese plates and cheese and meat plates. If purchased online, the wine tastings are $15 a person, $20 at the door. This will include five flights of their Blanc du Bois Semi-Sweet, Chardonnay, Blanc du Bois Dry, Malbec and Meritage wines. Additional glasses and bottles will be available for purchase.

In addition to these upcoming fall events, each Saturday night from April to May, the vineyard hosts a different band with a $15 cover charge; food and wine are available to purchase.
