California Pizza Kitchen a delicious addition to Restaurant Row

THE WOODLANDS, Texas - Restaurant Row at Hughes Landing is now the go-to spot for dining out in The Woodlands. California Pizza Kitchen, since opening in July, only adds to the variety of Restaurant Row, with a wide range of delicious menu items.

Located at 1900 Hughes Landing Blvd., Suite 200, California Pizza Kitchen (CPK) offers everything from appetizers, salads, flatbreads and pizza to entrees that include steak, fish and chicken. Contrary to its name, CPK does not just offer pizza, as there is bound to be something for everyone. Although there are over 270 full-service California Pizza Kitchens across The United States, The Woodlands location is quite unique in that it is known as a “next chapter” restaurant, meaning that the design is completely different form all previous CPK locations. Made from recycled product and flooring, California Pizza Kitchen in The Woodlands truly is one-of-a-kind.

The Woodlands CPK menu is anything but ordinary. To start, just like the name says, the restaurant is known for its pizzas. Many varieties are available in original hand-tossed, crispy thin-crust or even gluten-free to meet dietary needs. Customers can choose from the classics such as the Pepperoni and Hawaiian pizzas, or they can be more daring with pizzas such as the California Club, made with applewood smoked bacon, roasted chicken and Mozzarella, topped with avocado, arugula, basil and Romaine tossed in lemon-pepper mayonnaise. No matter which pizza is chosen, each is delicious in its own right.

Aside from pizza, it may come surprising to some that CPK is not a pizza-only restaurant. Choose from appetizers to get started such as Avocado Club Egg Rolls, Sesame Ginger Chicken Dumplings and Spinach Artichoke Dip. Soups and salads are also available. A neat feature about California Pizza Kitchen is that it offers seasonal items that change out four times a year. There are some items just for the summertime, while some are perfect for the fall. During the summer, seasonal items include the California Fields Salad, complete with watermelon and strawberries, as well as the Maine Lobster Flatbread, a mouth-watering entree for any seafood lover. For those who go to CPK throughout the year, the menu will always be a little different, allowing customers to choose from many different items!

The Main Plates at California Pizza Kitchen are nothing less than impressive and consist of Cedar Plank Salmon, Chicken Piccata, Fire-Grilled Ribbeye and Fish Tacos, just to name a few. However, a must-try would be the Hearth-Roasted Halibut. Customers will get nothing but the freshest of wild caught Halibut from the North Pacific that is then roasted on a cedar plank and placed on a bed of butternut squash farrow, kale, and grilled asparagus. This dish alone will have customers wanting to come back for more.

For dessert, if you still have room, there are many options to tie your meal off with something sweet. Salted Caramel Pudding, Red Velvet Cake and Belgian Chocolate Soufflé Cake are just some of the items on the dessert menu. A CPK favorite happens to be the Butter Cake and there is no mystery as to why. The warm cake paired with vanilla ice cream is the perfect pairing, making a delicious ending to your visit at California Pizza Kitchen.

California Pizza Kitchen at Hughes Landing is open Monday through Thursday from 11am to 10pm, Friday and Saturday from 11am to 12am, and on Sundays from 11am to 10pm.
