THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Enrollment has started for the fall workshops at The Woodlands Children’s Museum. There are a variety of offerings that explore a range of subjects – from art and dance to science and culture – for children ages 2 to 15.

Enroll now for creative, educational experiences this fall

For toddlers ages 2 and 3, the museum offers Early Childhood Explorations. Children must attend with an adult. This magical class teaches ways that toddlers and parents can play and learn together, and introduces children to basic social skills. Parents may also sign their toddlers up for Happy Feet workshops on Thursdays, which offer a first exposure to dance and movement, or Little Picassos on Wednesdays, which explores beginning artistic processes.

KindeReady workshops, designed for children ages 4 and 5, provide captivating learning games and activities that build reading skills, number recognition, fine motor skills and creative self-expression, with each week featuring a new theme.

The 10 for 2 Second Saturday Workshops are a new offering this fall. These two-hour workshops are only $10 – and provide fast-paced, fun-packed Saturday morning experiences. Designed for children ages 5 to 8, the sessions are scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon on the second Saturday of each month. Courses will cover a range of topics, including pottery, mask-making and found-object art.

Children ages 4 and 5 may join the Playful Processes workshop on Tuesdays. The class is based on the theory that children should have some control over the direction of their learning – and that they learn the most by touching, moving, listening, seeing and hearing.

ARTrageous Workshops, for children ages 5 to 15, will explore a number of themes and media – from collage and printmaking to watercolors and clay.

For young Picassos and van Goghs, the museum has formed the ARTrageous Club. Children ages 6 to 10 meet on Mondays to create art, learning to use a variety of artistic media and learn facts about different artists.

For young Einsteins and Edisons, the museum offers Got Science? The workshops are all held on Tuesdays for children ages 4 to 10.

For children ages 4 to 6, the Science Club offers plenty of opportunities for investigation, observation, measurement, identification and discovery. The young scientists meet on Tuesdays to explore weather, planets, magnets and rocketry.

Another fun class is Bollywood Dancing with Joy on Wednesdays. This fun introduction to the Indian dance culture is designed for children ages 6 to 10.

Children ages 4 to 10 might be interested in one of the Robotiks Workshops. Try E.A.R.L.Y. Robotics for 7 to 10 year olds or Lego Frenzy Meets Righteous Robotiks for 4 to 8 year olds. The Lego Club, for 6- to 10-year-olds, meets on Wednesdays.

The museum also hosts a number of holiday workshops. The SpookTacular Workshop, will be held on Friday, Oct. 30, and features the history of Halloween festivities, exploration of other cultures’ fall celebrations and art projects.

The Perfect Turkey Time Out is the perfect way to get into the Thanksgiving spirit – with a number of art projects planned for Monday, Nov. 23 and Tuesday, Nov. 24 for ages 4 through 8.

“We’ve created a full line-up of fun and educational workshops for the fall,” Angela Colton, executive director of The Woodlands Children’s Museum, said. “Don’t miss out on these great enrichment opportunities for children.”
