John Cooper volleyball gains preseason attention

THE WOODLANDS, Texas - The John Cooper School varsity volleyball team has earned some preseason recognition from the website, LoneStarVolleyball.com. The varsity team was featured as "A Team To Watch" in the "2015 High School Preview, Part 2. "In addition, several players were mentioned in sections of another list entitled "2015-2016 All-Texas Team."

Junior Kayley Wood, is listed under the Special Recognition section of the All-Texas Team list. According to the site, "...some very good players had to be left off both our All-Texas and second team squads, so we have a "Special Recognition" list of players who were popular with voters and we have compiled a list of players worthy of being identified as a Player to Watch."

Dragon players featured in the "Players to Watch" section included Kaylee Frazier, Cristina Gooch, Kara O'Neil, Taylor Turner and Kayley Wood.

In recent preseason play, teammate Gina Valderrama was recently named All-Tournament at the Magnolia Volley Battle Tournament on Aug. 20-22.

The Dragons play at Concordia Lutheran on Tues., Sept. 1 at 6:30 p.m.
